Carpooling Goes Wrong, Jeep Dives Into Pennsylvania Pool (Photos)

Perhaps the car was overheating and need to cool off, or the driver misunderstood how carpooling works, but no matter the reason it's clear that diving and driving should not mix.

A red Jeep with its headlights still on was pulled from a Dauphin County swimming pool on Sunday, August 4, authorities say.

The Londonderry fire company and the Middletown volunteer fire department were both called to the "vehicle accident with entrapment" involving a swimming pool, according to officials with the crews.

No occupants when in the vehicle when the crews arrived, officials from both crews say.

The Middletown crew used diving equipment and a rig to remove the Jeep, the department said in a Facebook post.

The whereabouts of the car's owner are unclear.
